Both locals and travelers alike fancy these restaurants, famous for their fine and fresh ingredients, offering inventive and traditional Spanish dishes.


Botín

Named the oldest restaurant in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records, Botín is not only known as one of the best Madrid restaurants for its fine menu and dining atmosphere, but also attracts tourists and locals alike due to its historical appeal and authentic environment. 

Feel free to dine in the Cellars, the Castilla Rooms, or the Felipe IV rooms, each offering their own unique character and ambiance. 

Specialities include roast lamb and cochinello cooked on the oak-firewood furnace. You will also find popular fish dishes here and marvel at the original cast-iron ovens. Main course prices average around $27.

La Trainera

Do not be misled by its rustic appearance. Located in the popular shopping area of Serrano, here at La Trainera you will find some of the freshest seafood in all of Spain. 

La Trainera doesn’t sell other meats, but you should not leave unsatisfied due to the fine array of fresh seafood served grilled, baked, fried, and seasoned to perfection at one of the best Madrid restaurants. Main courses range in price from $32-$120.    

Casa Lucio

Attracting many prominent figures and celebrities from around the world, Casa Lucio provides a traditional Castillian taste of Spanish food and dining experience. 

Known as one of the best Madrid restaurants, the house specialties here include a dish called huevos estrellados or “broken eggs” served with potatoes, Jabuga ham, shrimp, and a sizzling steak. El Chaflán

Located in northern Madrid in the Aristos hotel, El Chaflán offers a uniquely modern dining experience in one of the best Madrid restaurants. Take a load off in this skylight-illuminated relaxing dining room setting. 

You can watch Chef Juan Pablo Felipe Pablado in action through a double glazed window while sipping his version Spain’s most famous soup, gazpacho.

La Terraza del Casino

Not to be mistaken for a casino, La Terraza del Casino is now known as one of the best Madrid restaurants and is located on the top floor of one of Spain’s oldest ex-gentlemen clubs. 

The restaurant is open to the public, and the restaurant’s terrace view overlooking the city is a site to visit in itself, often offering live jazz performances.
